Hello there, I’m Taylor Webb.

I have spent the past 14+ years working in the music industry as a producer, mixer, and the past 4+ years as a mastering engineer. I’ve had the opportunity to produce, mix, and master on major labels, indie labels, and independent releases. My catalog of work has millions of streams, radio play across the globe, has charted on the iTunes top 40 in the US, and has been repeatedly featured on Spotify editorial playlists across various genres. As someone who has experienced the creation process of countless songs (and sent some of my own mixes to be mastered by world-famous mastering engineers), I know firsthand the value and perspective that a mastering engineer can bring to a song or an album.

As a mastering engineer, I strive to take the time to understand the vision for each song I work on, and to help each song reach its full potential. I want every master I deliver to represent the artist and producer in a way that will make them confident to share their art with the world.

I want to make sure that every person I work with feels sure that we are a great fit for each other, and that their money will go towards achieving a sound that matches their taste and vision. To help guarantee this, I offer free mastering samples for any first-time clients. I believe being able to hear what my mastering can do will help you understand if we work well together, and will eliminate some of the fear that inherently comes with trusting someone to finalize your songs.

Enough about me! If you’re here, it’s because you want to know if I’m a good fit for your music. Let’s get you a mastering sample and get you closer to the finish line. All you have to do is hit the button right here.

Mastering is about Quality Control, Polish, and Translation

Dynamics

Mastering takes a final look at shaping the dynamic range and harmonic saturation of a song. This contributes to the perceived loudness and flow of a song, as well as often creating excitement, glue, and polish.

Tone Shaping

Mastering shapes the overall tonality of the song. This can ensure playback translation on different listening formats, affect perceived loudness, increase or decrease stereo width, and maximize the amount of clean headroom available in a song.

Loudness

Probably the most widely-recognized function of mastering. The mastering engineer sets the final loudness of your song.

Formatting

The final step before a song is ready for distribution. Mastering creates and encodes files in appropriate formats for all different types of distribution.

An Email List That You Won’t Hate

Listen, I get it, you probably get a lot of emails. You don’t need more worthless spam. But if you’re interested in truly useful resources for production, mixing, and mastering, this is the email list for you. One of my goals is building a supportive community environment that empowers and educates artists, producers, and mixers in their craft. Here’s a bit of what you can expect in your inbox throughout the year (all for FREE):

  • Video workshops that cover production, mixing and mastering techniques (with both 3rd party and stock plugins, so everyone can benefit)

  • Education about confusing/often misunderstood concepts (think topics like streaming normalization, compression, headroom before mastering, etc.)

  • Invitations to small group calls for track feedback, mix feedback, etc.
