Meet Chromatic Mastering’s Engineer

Hello there! I’m Taylor.

I have spent the past 14+ years working in the music industry as a producer, mixer, and the past 4+ years as a mastering engineer. I’ve had the opportunity to produce, mix, and master for major labels, indie labels, and independent releases. My catalog of work has millions of streams, radio play across the globe, has charted on the iTunes top 40 in the US, and has been repeatedly featured on Spotify editorial playlists across various genres. As someone who has experienced the creation process of countless songs, I know firsthand the value and perspective that a mastering engineer can bring to a song or an album. I began learning about mastering primarily from my work as a mix engineer. I was fortunate to work closely with great mastering engineers, pick their brains, and learn how they were approaching their work. Hearing the work and polish they brought to my mixes taught me how a song can reach its fullest potential through the mastering process. Over time, I began to love the mastering process and have spent years developing a trained ear, acquiring specialized gear, and mastering songs for artists that found me a good fit for their project.

Mastering can be a make-it-or-break-it process for a song. It can push a song to new heights or undo the carefully crafted vision of the artist and the producer. As a mastering engineer, I strive to take the time to truly learn and understand the vision for each song I work on, and to help each song reach its full potential. I want every master I deliver to represent the artist and producer in a way that will make them confident to share their art with the world. My hope is that if you decide to work with me, you’ll get to experience the process with someone who listens well, takes the time to understand your vision, shows high levels of technical skill and critical listening, and checks their ego at the door.

I understand that there are an unlimited number of ways to approach the work of mastering. I also know that sometimes mastering can be confusing, and it might be hard to know what you’re paying for. I want to make sure that every person I work with feels confident that we are a great fit for each other, and that their money will go towards achieving a sound that matches their taste and vision. To help with this, I offer free mastering samples for artists and producers. I believe being able to hear what my mastering can do will help you understand if we work well together, and will eliminate some of the fear that inherently comes with trusting someone to finalize your songs.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site, hear some of my work, and learn more about me! It’s an honor to be considered for a role in bringing your art into the world. No matter who you end up working with, thank you for being willing to step out and create something new in the world to share with others. I believe that what you do as an artist matters a great deal.

I hope to hear from you soon!
